🚨 **CAPE CORAL IS CRACKING DOWN ON UNLICENSED CONTRACTORS** 🚨

Cape Coral just approved a new **Licensing Investigator** position within Development Services to proactively and reactively go after unlicensed contracting. The investigator will be able to verify licenses, investigate jobsites, review evidence and pursue enforcement.

And honestly… **it's about time.** 👀

For the homeowners out there, that “guy who can do it cheaper” might not look like such a bargain when the city starts asking questions. 😂

Before you hire a contractor, make sure you:
✅ Verify their Florida license
✅ Make sure the license covers the work they're doing
✅ Make sure the proper permits are pulled
✅ Get everything in writing

Cape Coral specifically warns homeowners about the risks of hiring unlicensed contractors, including poor workmanship, liability issues and potentially expensive repairs.

The City is looking to add a dedicated licensing investigator whose job will include checking contractor licenses, auditing active jobsites, reviewing documentation and financial transactions, and pursuing violations all related to unlicensed contractors. The goal is not to further monitor the licensed group of businesses, it is designed to go after the unlicensed contractors.

For homeowners, here's the takeaway:

**Floating Vanities: Because Apparently Cabinets Need to Hover Now. 😂**

Remember when a vanity was just a cabinet that sat on the floor and did its job?

Not anymore.

Now we’re mounting them to the wall so they can **float dramatically above the floor** like they’ve achieved enlightenment. 😂

And honestly? We get it. They look damn good, make the bathroom feel bigger, and make cleaning underneath a whole lot easier.

The only downside?

Your bathroom cabinet is now more secure than most relationships.

**Floating vanity:**
*Looks expensive. Feels modern. Hangs on the wall. Refuses to touch the ground.*
