Old galvanized steel cradle was rusting away in the saltwater — so we upgraded the customer to a brand-new aluminum cradle, bunks, and guide posts.
Galvanized steel can hold up for a while, but in Southwest Florida’s saltwater it eventually breaks down. Once the coating fails, rust takes over, weakens the structure, and puts the boat (and the lift) at risk. Rather than keep risking a failure, we replaced the old steel cradle with a new aluminum one, along with fresh bunks and guide posts.
Why aluminum makes a difference here:
• It won’t rust or corrode the way galvanized steel does in saltwater
• Longer service life with far less maintenance
• Strong, lightweight, and built to keep supporting the boat safely
• Cleaner look and peace of mind every time the boat goes in or out
The customer can keep using his boat lift without worrying about the cradle failing underneath him. That’s the goal with these upgrades fix it right so it lasts.
If your boat lift cradle, bunks, or guides are showing rust or wear, let’s take a look before it becomes a bigger problem.
