Gonna be stellar!!!
WE HAVE BEEN KEEPING A VERY BIG SECRET…
Today, on the final day of the 2026 Parade of Homes, I finally get to share something that is incredibly special to my heart.
FD Builds has been selected to build the HBA of West Florida’s 2027 Dream Home.
Even typing those words feels surreal.
For me, moments like this always take me back to where my story began.
When I was a little girl, I fought cancer.
I was given the incredible gift of getting to grow up. And for as long as I can remember, I have carried a deep belief that a gift that big comes with a responsibility to do something meaningful with it.
To love people well.
To serve.
To give back.
To take chances.
To have faith.
And to use whatever God puts in my hands to make an impact beyond myself.
And maybe one of the most beautiful parts of where that purpose has led me is that I get to build dreams and homes for others alongside one of the people who has always believed in mine the most, my Dad.
He has been the steady voice behind me my entire life saying, “You can do it.”
Before FD Builds. Before the awards. Before I ever knew where this road would lead, he believed in me. He taught me not to be afraid of hard things, to figure it out, to keep going, and to believe that I was capable of more than I sometimes believed myself.
And now we get to build something together that is bigger than either of us.
What started as a father and daughter taking a leap of faith together has grown into something neither of us could have fully envisioned when we started.
We've learned together. We've taken risks together. We've made mistakes together. We've celebrated together. And somewhere along the way, what started as the two of us became an incredible team of people who believed in what we were building.
Not just houses.
Something that could matter.
That's why this moment means so much to me.
Being entrusted with the 2027 HBA of West Florida Dream Home is an incredible honor and privilege. We don’t take lightly what it means to have our name attached to something that represents our local building industry, our community, and so many talented people who call Northwest Florida home.
But the part I’m most excited about?
This Dream Home is going to be so much bigger than FD Builds.
Yes, we are going to build an incredible home.
But I want to build something beyond four walls.
I want this project to bring together builders, trades, designers, vendors, local businesses, families and neighbors.
I want it to showcase the incredible talent that exists right here in our community.
I want people to walk through this home and be inspired, not just by beautiful finishes, but by thoughtful design, innovation, wellness, family, tradition and the idea that a home can truly impact the way we live.
And I want us to use this opportunity to give back in a meaningful way.
There will be partnerships. There will be events. There will be opportunities for our community to be involved. There will undoubtedly be challenges, crazy ideas, late nights, changes, laughter, probably a few tears, and a whole lot of heart.
Because that's how FD Builds has always done things.
Homes with Heart isn't just our slogan. It's the reason we build.
And none of this happens because of one person.
I look at our FD Builds team and feel incredibly grateful. Every person who has believed in this company, poured their talents into our homes, solved problems, answered calls, walked job sites, worked late, cared about our homeowners and helped turn ideas into reality is part of this moment.
This is OUR Dream Home.
Our team's.
Our trade partners'.
Our industry's.
Our community's.
And over the next year, I want to take you along for ALL of it.
Not just the beautiful reveal at the end.
The dream.
The dirt.
The drawings.
The decisions.
The partnerships.
The construction.
The setbacks.
The celebrations.
The people.
The purpose.
And finally, the HOME.
We're going to dream big with this one.
Maybe even a little bigger than we're comfortable with.
Because I've learned that the biggest dreams usually require us to step outside of what feels safe and trust that God has already gone before us.
So today, as we close out the 2026 Parade of Homes, we aren't really closing a chapter.
We're opening the biggest one yet.
