CKFGardens Charlie's Gardens: horticultural and ecological based landscaping: soil health and ecological practices. I save the wildflowers

I started this business in 2025 after 5 years as the assistant field manager of Bristol's Farm. I am also a UCONN agriculture graduate. I, like many of my fellow Canton residents, hope to use any knowledge i have to build sustainable and ecological systems as is done at Bristol's Farm

Are you interested in an elevated raised bed garden box? We have begun making them, at any size (thus prices vary, but with a $100 minimum), with free delivery for the big ones! This one is 3.5 ft by 2 ft! I also sell my own soil mix, with local chem free compost! Bark, then soil, then plant! Rot resistant cedar boards and no glues, stains or PT wood! And we still offer in ground frames of course!

End of the year wrap-up posts! first, let us highlight pruning, trimming, and health!

this magnolia hadn't been trimmed in many years, 30 ft tall! but careful skill and knowledge ensured healthy suckering cleared out dead and leggy growth. notice the carefully selectec canopy on the right (done side) in the work-in-progress photo (2nd photo)

also hightlighted this year: careful pruning of lilac's ensures the defeat of lilac blight. most properties do not get this treatment from the landscaping force. ensure your trees and shrubs with us!

what is soil science? it covers microbiology, mycology, and more. There are facts about soil and management and also the fact that you want your home to have its creations sustaining for the future. The fast release chemical fertilizer business, with the agressive mining done across the world for NPK bags, has become normal. Round up, dyed mulches, and more chemical harm are expected with landscaping. CKF Gardens however builds sustainable systems with soil we mix and deliver ourselves, natural mulch, and more local and sustainable ingredients to a system to maintain your property
