This may be the toughest inspection we’ve ever had. 😂 We’re honored to have received the official Marigold’s Place stamp of approval! 🐔🐑🐮❤️
Official Statement from the Marigold’s Place Roofing Inspection Committee 📝
After several days of careful observation, repeated unauthorized inspections of ladders, questionable interest in toolboxes, and a great deal of supervising from the front AND back yard, we are pleased to announce that the new roof and gutters have received the animals’ full approval. 🐑🐓🐶🐮🐈
There were concerns at first. 🧐
There were strangers.
There were noises.
There were things being carried overhead.
There were, frankly, disruptions to the morning corn schedule.
The chickens 🐓 handled most of the active supervision, of course, while Violet 🐑preferred to observe from a respectful distance with the expression of someone who had not personally authorized any of this.
After several days of review, she issued a brief statement:
“It will do.”
Which, from Violet, is essentially a five-star review. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Marigold 🐮 remained completely uninterested in the entire operation, apparently confident that roofs, gutters, insurance claims, and construction crews are all matters for humans and therefore none of her concern.
Jasper, 🐮 on the other hand, is now considering a career in roofing. After studying the ladders very carefully and making more than one attempt to determine how one might get up there, he has concluded that climbing onto the roof looks like tremendous fun and is currently accepting apprenticeship opportunities.
He has no experience, no references, and absolutely no business being on a ladder. 🪜
The crew from Undercover Roofing and Exteriors quickly proved themselves worthy. They were kind, hardworking, patient with the feathered management team, and somehow managed to completely transform the house while being watched very closely by no less than seventeen tiny building inspectors with no actual qualifications — plus one sheep with extremely high standards, one disinterested cow, and one calf who may now be a workplace liability.
Jesse Dobson handled everything from start to finish, even filing the claim, which left the homeowner (me)with the very difficult responsibilities of choosing colors, admiring the progress, and occasionally saying, “Oh my gosh, that looks SO good.”
The final verdict?
Roof: approved.
Gutters: approved.
Crew: approved.
Violet: withholding enthusiasm, but secretly pleased.
Marigold: did not notice.
Jasper: would like a hard hat and access to the ladder.
Corn distribution during construction: could have been better.
On behalf of all of us here at Marigold’s Place, thank you to Jesse, Tommy, Steven, the roofing crew, and the gutter crew for making our little corner of the world look so beautiful.
The humans are thrilled.
The chickens are impressed.
Violet would like everyone to calm down about it.
Marigold has gone back to eating.
And Jasper is still looking for that ladder. 🐔🐑🐄❤️
