Aksamit Tree Care LLC cleaned up a few hanging hazard limbs, pruned a plum tree, and took down a small beech tree for a client in Cadillac west this morning. These quick spike removals are a lot of fun! Everything came down safely and we completed a thorough cleanup.

Check out the before, during, and after photos from this large tree clearing project! Over the last few weeks we removed 15 oak trees in total from this yard and ground all the stumps, making sure the yard was back to grade. Once everything was leveled out we added topsoil, grass seed, and straw.

This job highlighted the importance of submitting MISS DIG tickets for even simple ground disturbing projects - gas and electrical line snaked through the yard around these trees, we were grinding within a few feet of each on most of these stumps.

Aksamit Tree Care LLC completed a spruce pruning job for a commercial client in Cadillac last week - removing dead lower limbs and raising the base of the canopy on three large spruce trees to allow clearance for walking and mowing around the trees. What a difference!

These aren't the most exciting photos, but they are the result of a lot of hard work today.

Aksamit Tree Care LLC completed several different tasks for a client in the Mesick area today. We started the day by felling two hazardous trees adjacent to a pole building. Once those trees were down, we bolted and cabled two double-stem maple trees adjacent to structures to add structural support due to the presence of weak unions. Sending a 3/4" x 50" auger bit through green hardwoods is a workout, but we got it done. In total, we placed 6 threaded rods and 4 high strength cables across two trees.

Aksamit Tree Care LLC took care of a few jobs after work today. We started our evening by removing two hazard limbs over a future barn location. Once those limbs were safely dropped, we moved two houses down the road and pruned two oak trees an a maple (pictured). We're getting a lot of use out of the new lift!

Aksamit Tree Care LLC got to utilize our new lift on a tree felling job tonight. This large aspen tree was next to a garage, and while it likely could have been dropped as it was, we always like to have some insurance when structures are involved. Using the lift we set a 1" rope at an appropriate height in the canopy, which was then tied off to a pull vehicle. The tree came down safely!

Aksamit Tree Care LLC is excited to put into service our new (to us) Haulotte 5533a man lift. We had the opportunity to use a rental unit a few weeks ago which sold us on the capability of this model. After finding a good deal on a gently used one from Great Lakes Access we decided to pull the trigger. This lift will be extremely beneficial to us as we tackle all your tree trimming, tree removal, and structural repair needs!

The man who taught me how to use a saw spent a long day yesterday getting ahead on a large tree removal project for a client in Cadillac.

We have all but three of the trees down, will drop the rest today, and are bringing in a chipper to do the cleanup. After that it will just be a matter of grinding the stumps!

Aksamit Tree Care LLC had a busy day yesterday, leaving the house at 7:45 AM and getting home at 7:30 PM.

We started our day with the removal of a broken top from a two-stem birch tree that was hanging adjacent to a home. While up in the tree we set a single steel cable to support both stems.

At our second client's home, we pruned some low hanging oak limbs to create more clearance for their service line. We also installed four steel rods and four steel cables in a maple tree adjacent to the house to support the tree and reduce the likelihood of failure. We just about maxed out our 50" auger bit drilling some of the rod holes!

We finished off the day helping a friend prune a large white pine in their back yard. It's been awhile since I got to be the one operating the ropes on the ground, and it was a great refresher.
