You might notice we don’t pull a trailer behind our truck on some mowing routes.

That’s intentional. In tight neighborhood streets and smaller driveways, the trailer can be more of a hassle than a help.

Keeping our setup on the truck makes it easier to maneuver and keeps the crew moving. 🌱🚜

Alan has officially completed his field training with Rosales Yard Maintenance. 👏

There’s a lot more to learning this work than just getting comfortable behind a mower. Our training has him putting in the reps. Learning how we w**d eat, edge, blow, push mow, and operate our zero-turns while working toward the level of consistency we expect in the field.

Now that he’s completed his training, Alan is also eligible for our Performance Pay program.

He’s put in the work to get here, and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue to improve as he gets more experience on the route.

Congratulations, Alan! 💪🌹

We wrapped up July with a little team appreciation—snow cones, some laughs, and a $50 raffle drawing.

The raffle is part of our Reliable Team. Stronger Together. campaign. Team members earn entries by showing up consistently, taking pride in their work, avoiding callbacks, and stepping up to help when an extra hand is needed.

This month’s winner was Ricky! 👏 Thanks for setting a great example and for everything you do for the team.

I’m proud of the crew we’ve built. Every person plays a part in helping us show up for our customers week after week, and that’s something worth celebrating.

On to August! 💪

🎉 Congratulations, Miguel!

Today we’re celebrating a big milestone. Miguel has officially completed our field training program at Rosales Yard Maintenance! 👏🌹

Before working independently, every team member goes through hands-on training to make sure they’re providing the quality our customers expect.

Miguel successfully completed:
✅ 40 yards of w**d eating, edging, and debris blowing
✅ 20 yards push mowing with a 21-inch mower
✅ 10 yards of zero-turn mower training

A special thank you to Johnny and Ricky for investing their time, knowledge, and patience in training the next generation of our team. Your leadership makes a difference.

We’re proud of the work Miguel has put in and excited to watch him continue to grow. Congratulations, Miguel, we’re glad to have you on the team! 💪🌹

We’re excited to share that Rosales Yard Maintenance was awarded a $5,500 LEAP Incentive Grant from the Buda Economic Development Corporation!

These funds will help us invest in new equipment and software that will make our team more efficient and improve the experience for our customers.

We want to thank Buda EDC for believing in local businesses like ours. We’re proud to call Buda home, and we’re committed to continuing to invest in our company so we can better serve the community that has supported us for so many years.

And a special thank you to Evelyn, who keeps our office and scheduling running smoothly every day. She represented our team at the award presentation, and we couldn’t be more proud.

💧 Watering Tip for Buda Homeowners

With our current drought restrictions, I know a lot of people are worried that watering only once a week isn’t enough.

The good news is… it can be.

The key isn’t watering more often—it’s watering deeper. When you give your lawn a good, deep watering, the roots grow farther into the soil. That helps your grass stay healthier and handle our Central Texas heat much better.

One thing to keep in mind is that we have heavy clay soil here in Buda. It doesn’t absorb water very quickly, so running a sprinkler for 30 minutes straight can actually send water down the sidewalk instead of into the ground.

A better approach is to cycle and soak:

💦 Run a zone for about 15 minutes.
⏸️ Let it soak while your other zones run.
💦 Then come back and run it for another 15 minutes.

Giving the soil a chance to absorb the water means more of it reaches the roots where your lawn actually needs it.

There’s no magic number of minutes that works for every yard because every sprinkler system is different. The goal is simply to water deeply without creating runoff.

If possible, water early in the morning on your assigned watering day. You’ll lose less water to evaporation, and your lawn will thank you.

☀️ Texas summers don’t just test homeowners… they test lawns too.

Every summer I hear the same thing:

“I guess I just need to water more.”

And sometimes that’s true.

But sometimes the lawn isn’t just thirsty — it’s hungry, stressed, or competing with tree roots for nutrients and water.

The interesting thing about Bermuda grass is that summer is actually its favorite time of year. This is when it grows the fastest and responds best to treatments.

That’s why the lawns that look great in September usually didn’t start in September.

They started with consistency during the summer. 😎 🌱

If your lawn is looking thin, pale, or just not as healthy as it should be, it may be time to look beyond the sprinkler system.
