🚧 It’s 8/11 — National 811 Day 🚧
A lot of people don’t realize this: under PA law, if you’re using powered equipment to dig — even for a mailbox post, a fence, or a small landscaping job — you’re required to call 811 at least 3 business days before you start.
To residents: planting a tree, building a deck, installing a fence with a powered auger? Call 811 first. It’s free for homeowners on their own property.
To fellow excavators: if you’re hired by a homeowner, their call doesn’t cover you. YOU have to call 811 yourself — a homeowner’s notification does not legally protect a hired contractor. Skipping it isn’t just risky, it’s a violation of Act 287.
811 gets your dig site marked at no cost, within that 3-10 business day window. No excuse not to.

Just wrapped up grading and topsoil work for a customer who had an inground pool installed — once the concrete work was done, we came in to grade the surrounding area and lay fresh topsoil to get the yard back to usable (and good-looking) shape.
This is a step a lot of people don’t think about until the pool’s already in and they’re staring at rough, uneven dirt around brand new concrete. If you’ve had pool work done recently or have one planned, this is exactly the kind of finishing work we handle.
