What a beautiful transformation in Sussex, WI!

We replaced the worn-out, storm-damaged shingles on this home with a complete Malarkey roofing system featuring Vista AR Class 4 impact-resistant shingles in Weathered Wood.

Starting this nice roofing project in Brownsville, WI today. We will be installing new Malarkey Vista class 4 shingles in the color Weatherwood. This house will look great when it's finished and the homeowner will be extra protected with enhanced wind coverage and a non-prorated 50 year limited lifetime warranty instead of only 15 years because we are certified pros through Malarkey. We talk about this all the time, but here is our PSA for the day 😎

We were called to a home in Horicon for a leaking roof/skylight. The surprising part? The roof was just replaced in JUNE!

Once we looked closer, we found several problems:

* Old step flashing was reused and improperly reinstalled.
* The homeowner was told a new skylight flashing kit was installed, but the skylight is so old that a new compatible kit is no longer available.
* That also raises concerns about whether ice & water shield was properly installed around the skylight.
* Old roof-to-wall flashing was reused—even though the siding was replaced at the same time.

From the ground, the roof looks great. But that’s exactly the point.

Roofing systems usually fail at the details you can’t see.

When comparing estimates, ask how your contractor plans to handle flashing, skylights, roof-to-wall areas, ice & water shield, and other critical components. Price matters—but the finished product matters more.

We may not be the cheapest quote you receive, and we’re okay with that. Our goal is to install your roof or siding the way we would want it installed on our own home, which usually takes time and a little extra money.

No shortcuts. No covering up old problems. Just doing it right the first time.

Fast isn't always better. Quality takes time.

This beautiful home in West Bend, WI received a complete exterior upgrade featuring a Malarkey Vista® architectural shingle roof paired with a standing seam metal roof—a combination that offers outstanding durability, long-term performance, and timeless curb appeal.

Could we have finished faster? Absolutely.

But doing the job the right way meant taking extra time to carefully remove large sections of the existing steel siding so we could properly install ice and water shield. It's a step many contractors skip because it takes additional labor, materials, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, it's also one of the most important details for protecting a home from Wisconsin's snow, ice, and wind-driven rain.

The work you don't see is often what determines whether your roof performs for decades—or develops leaks a few years down the road.

At AM Exteriors, we don't cut corners to save a few hours or win a bid. We follow manufacturer installation requirements and proven best practices because that's what your home deserves.

This customer had a very specific vision in mind and we were able to bring it to life with LP SmartSide in Abyss Black, Brilliant Black Malarkey Vista shingles and roofing system-a class 4 impact rated shingle with an available enhanced warranty as AM Exteriors is certified through Malarkey. New black gutters, window wraps, soffit, and fascia. Still a few details to finish like installing new Anderson screen doors when they arrive and a facelift on the garage door, but we couldn't wait to share! Today we are starting this large roofing project in West Bend. New class 4 Malarkey Vistas getting installed with metal accents on dormers. Can't wait to see the final result. We will being removing and reinstalling the steel siding so we can get ice and water and new step flashing installed. Here at AM Exteriors LLC we do it right the first time!!
