Old homes have character… but they can also come with some roofing challenges 👀🏠

Ryan’s breaking down one of the biggest ones: old slat decking/sheathing.

Back in the day, spaced boards with gaps between them were common practice. The problem? Those gaps can create opportunities for:
• Leaks
• Nail pops
• Loose shingles
• Broken boards and weak spots

Sure, you can replace individual boards between rafters or spend time renailing everything… but that still doesn’t solve the issue of wide gaps that no longer meet modern code.

In many cases, the best long-term solution is installing new OSB sheathing over the top — creating a solid, secure surface for your new roof system.

It has been a RAINY week ☔️😅

Between watching the radar every five minutes, juggling schedules, and working around Indiana weather, it’s definitely been one of those weeks. But even with all the rain, we’ve still been able to help a lot of homeowners and keep projects moving forward. 💪🏠

And somewhere in the middle of all the chaos… Michael found a frog friend outside the office 😂🐸
