Halloween mode: activated. 🎃

We gave this Tulsa-area home a little spooky-season upgrade with all orange C9 lights because Christmas lights don’t have to wait until Christmas.

And a quick public service announcement while we have you here: we install permanent lighting too. 👀 So if you want Halloween colors in October, red + green in December, OU/OSU colors on game day, or warm white the rest of the year… you can do it all without getting back on a ladder.

Serving Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Owasso and surrounding areas.

Tulsa area — which neighborhood goes the hardest for Christmas lights every year?

Stone Canyon? Forest Ridge? Southern Hills? The Estates at Forest Ridge?

I know I’m missing some good ones.

This one is in Midtown, and it’s hard to beat.

What neighborhood deserves to be on the list?

Did permanent Christmas lights kill traditional Christmas lights?

I don’t think so.

A few years ago, if you wanted your house lit up for Christmas, you had two options:
Climb a ladder and do it yourself.

Or hire someone like us to come out every year, install the lights, take them down in January, and store everything until next Christmas.

Then permanent lighting started getting popular.

The pitch was pretty simple.

Install it once. Leave it up all year. Change the colors from your phone. Never hang Christmas lights again.

And for a lot of homeowners, that sounds pretty hard to beat.

We install Minleon permanent lighting ourselves, so I’m obviously a fan of it.
But here’s something I’ve noticed:

Permanent lighting hasn’t really replaced traditional Christmas lighting.
It’s just changed how people decorate.

This house is a perfect example.

The roofline is Minleon permanent lighting.

The lights along the ground are temporary C9 Christmas lights that we installed just for the season.

And I actually think the combination looks better than either one would by itself.
Permanent lighting gives you convenience.

Christmas, Halloween, game days, birthdays, backyard parties — change the colors and you’re done.

But traditional C9s still have something permanent lighting doesn’t completely replicate.

That old-school Christmas look.

Big bulbs.

Clean lines.

Lights wrapping the driveway, sidewalks, landscaping and trees.

There’s something about it that just feels like Christmas.

So I don’t think traditional Christmas lights are going anywhere.

I think more homes are going to look like this.

Permanent lighting where it makes sense.

Traditional lighting where it makes the display better.

Curious what everyone around Tulsa thinks:

If this were your house, would you go completely permanent?

Completely traditional?

Or mix the two like this?
