From high school gym class to the national stage. 🥏

For MC Fiber’s Brent Schilling, what started as playing disc golf with a few friends has grown into a professional-level pursuit — and now, a trip to one of the biggest stages in the sport.

Brent recently qualified for the United States Disc Golf Championship (USDGC), taking place October 8–11 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He earned his spot by placing second at a Minnesota tournament that also served as a national qualifier.

Brent made the jump to the professional division in 2024, but he’s quick to keep things in perspective. He isn’t heading to Nationals with expectations of a certain finish. He simply wants to play his best, enjoy the experience and see where it takes him.

His journey is also a great example of how work and life outside of work can complement each other. Brent says MC Fiber’s four-day work week has given him the flexibility to compete in tournaments without having to take time off work — something that has made a big difference as he’s continued to grow as a competitor.

And his coworkers have become part of the journey, too. After tournament weekends, Brent says one of the first things he hears at work is, “How’d you do?”

We’re proud to have Brent on our team and excited to see him take something he’s passionate about all the way to the national stage.

Good luck at USDGC, Brent! We’ll be cheering you on! 📣
