Working on this gorgeous old 1947 Levin Model 27 archtop guitar, made in Gothenburg Sweden by A. B. Herman Carlson Levin Musikinstrumentfabrik.

Sporting a master luthier hand-carved solid Romanian spruce top and what appears to be solid old-growth mahogany back and sides, I certainly can’t wait to hear this instrument’s lower midrange woody and warm bark, post side crack repair that is! Time to heat up the hide glue…

This kind of guitar doesn’t show up in the ‘States every day. Super thrilled!

🎵 There is always time to learn something new!

Today, I Acquired this old sitar. It has cracks and damage, and will need to fabricate a couple of replacement components for it.

I have wanted one since I was a kid, and with this comes learning how to work on them!

Respectfully studying a bit of culture, Anahata and Ahata Nada, Goddess Saraswati, history of the instrument, there is a lot to learn here too,

all very interesting!

Bringing new life into instruments is a wonderful feeling-

Any tips or knowledge appreciated, this is the beginning of a beautiful journey.

It’s been awhile since I posted here, (we’ve been focusing on releasing an album). Many people have been asking if I’m still working on instruments. The answer is YES! Message me with needs! THAT BEING SAID:

The house and property I work at got sold recently and will be ultimately razed, bulldozed, turned into million dollar condominiums at some near point in the future, but for now I’m still here tinkering.

Just installed pickups on a nice Weissenborn style guitar today and it sounds like a choir of angels!

Just about the cutest dang electric soprano Uke I’ve ever seen. Comes in its own space pod. “Lava U” made of carbon fiber coming in for a “stay in tune while overseas” restring and setup. Graphite in nut slots and shaved down the saddle a bit for better action. Very cool instrument!
