A roof is only as good as what’s underneath it. At our Lexington exterior renovation, the shingles may be the finished look, but the real protection comes from the full roof system behind them.

From the Zip System roof overlay to the Benjamin Obdyke Inc. - Roof & Wall Products VaporDry SA and copper flashing details, every layer was built with decades of performance in mind.

This is why we keep bringing you behind the build. It is not about paid products or polished talking points. It is about showing the materials, methods, and details we trust because we have seen them perform in real project conditions.

For our clients, partners, homeowners, DIYers, and the next generation of builders, we hope these videos make the work more transparent, more useful, and more understood.

Keeping water out is step one. Knowing what happens if it gets in is where the real planning starts.

At our Lexington project, the control layers are built for both. With Benjamin Obdyke VaporDry SA on the roof and HydroGap on the walls, the system is designed to give moisture a path out before it can sit, soak, and cause damage.

A barn that feels right at home in a New England fall. At our Westwood project, the restored character and classic detailing give this attached barn the kind of timeless presence that only feels better this time of year.

A roof in New England has to be ready for everything. That’s why on every project, we treat the roof as a full performance system, not just a finished surface. At our Lexington project, that means using quality materials from Huber Engineered Woods and Benjamin Obdyke to build in the layers that matter most.

Stay tuned as we show more of the ways we’re building longevity into this home.

Let’s talk water management. At our Lexington project, Benjamin Obdyke HydroGap SA and HydroFlash are helping manage water where it matters most—moving moisture out, protecting key transitions, and adding defense against the New England weather ahead.

With fall around the corner, the best seat in the house might be anywhere in this room. Built around openness, natural light, and views of the surrounding woods, this living area keeps the outdoors part of the everyday experience.

Behind every project at McCormack Builders is a network of people who help keep our team moving, and for nearly 25 years, Bobby at Quirk Ford in Quincy has been one of those trusted partners.

What started with my first truck when I was just getting started has grown into a relationship that has supported our team, our work, and the way we show up for our clients. Partnerships like this are built over time, and this is one we are proud to share.
