It’s that time of year again to get prepared for cold and flu season. Nothing beats Fire Cider for a sore throat or to use as a preventative!! There are so many recipes, but here’s what I used this time around!
Fire Cider Recipe for 1 Jar:
1 half gallon Mason jar
2 oranges
2 lemons
2 limes
2 red jalapeno
2 green jalapeno
1 ceylon cinnamon stick
1 tablespoon dried Elderberries
5 crushed whole garlic cloves
1 red onion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh tumeric root
2 tablespoons chopped fresh ginger root
1 tablespoon fresh chopped horseradish
2 tablespoons whole peppercorn
Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother
Directions:
After cleaning all fruits thoroughly, cut all ingredients and place in Mason jar. Fill jar with apple cider vinegar to cover all ingredients. De-bubble jar and adjust liquid accordingly. Place lid and ring on jar and put in a dark dry area for 6-8 weeks; checking on it once a week or when you think about it.
The longer it sits the better, but after 6-8 weeks, strain liquid through a sieve. Add your favorite honey (to your taste), to the liquid and discard solids. Transfer liquid to a quart suzed Mason jar and store in the refrigerator.
On the first sign of a sore throat, take a shot sized serving once or twice a day to help your body fight it off.
The first time i made this i was really skeptical if it would work, but we really swear by it now and don’t want to be without it!
