Good evening Bluffton and Sun City neighbors!
Rolling into the new week with solid progress on this bathroom rebuild. After switching to the 12×24 porcelain tile and getting the floor perfectly re‑leveled, we’ve been knocking out each stage with precision.

Here’s what’s been completed since the last update:

The bathroom floor is now fully tiled with the new 12×24 porcelain — clean lines, tight joints, and a much sharper look than the original ceramic.

Shower walls are underway, and the new tile is going up beautifully. Consistent sizing makes all the difference, and the layout is coming together exactly how it should.

The niche is framed, waterproofed, and being tied into the wall tile for a seamless finish.

All prep work — GoBoard, waterproofing, leveling, and layout — is locked in and performing the way it should.

Good evening Bluffton and Sun City neighbors!
Quick update on the project — our client originally selected a 12×12 ceramic tile for the bathroom floor. Once we began installing on Friday, we noticed the batch had inconsistent sizing and thickness, which made it impossible to achieve a clean, level installation even with proper back‑buttering and setting techniques.

We paused the install and gave our client the weekend to look at the tile on the floor. After seeing it in place, they understood exactly what we were pointing out — the pieces simply weren’t uniform enough to meet the quality we aim for.

To keep the project on track and ensure our client gets the finish they deserve, we removed the tile, re‑prepped the floor, and re‑leveled everything with no additional labor cost. Our client only purchased the new self‑leveler and the updated trim — we took care of the rest because quality matters.

They chose to switch to a 12×24 porcelain tile, which offers consistent dimensions, stronger density, and a much cleaner final look.

Since then we’ve:

Tiled the shower pan floor

Scraped and prepped the bathroom floor

Poured a fresh leveler for a perfectly flat substrate

Tomorrow we’ll begin the shower walls — appreciate everyone following along and supporting local craftsmanship.

Sharing a quick update from today's progress.
We completed the GoBoard install, set the shower pan liner, and sealed and waterproofed all the seams. Nice clean work and a solid step forward in the rebuild.

Tomorrow we’ll be floating the shower pan and starting on the bathroom floor — steady progress all week.

Good morning, folks!
Sharing a quick update from yesterday’s progress. We got the framing up for the new linen closets, ran the plumbing lines, set the electrical, and the custom shower layout is really starting to come together. Nice clean start to this rebuild.

Back from vacation and right into a new master bathroom remodel for one of our Lowcountry neighbors. We started this project on Monday — demo wrapped up by Tuesday, and by Wednesday we were already rebuilding and running new water lines.

We appreciate our Bluffton neighbors keeping us busy. We’re currently booked until November 20th, but we’ll keep sharing progress as we go. Thank you all for the continued support.

Good morning, Bluffton and Sun City neighbors.
We just started another bathroom tub/shower conversion for one of your neighbors. This bathroom originally had a one‑piece fiberglass tub/shower unit, and the homeowners wanted a safer, cleaner walk‑in shower.

When we removed the old vanity, we found mold on the bottom of the drywall directly under where the vanity had been sitting. We informed the homeowner right away, opened the wall, and discovered 3/8" PB supply lines along with a leaking angle stop that had been slowly feeding moisture into the wall cavity.

We also found that the drain line and vent line were not correctly installed, which was causing sewer gas to leak behind the wall. This is something we’ve seen before when older plumbing was pieced together over the years — improper venting can let odor and moisture linger inside the wall cavity.

After pulling up the old bathroom floor tile, we uncovered more mold, plus a crack in the foundation that was allowing moisture to travel into the wall and floor system.

We cleaned and treated all the mold we found, filled and sealed the foundation crack with a cement patch sealant, and then installed the Schluter Ditra waterproofing mat to protect the bathroom floor moving forward. The space is now fully corrected and prepped for the rebuild.
