Rattling cabinets when you walk?

Gaps forming between the floor and baseboard? 👀
That’s a classic sign of sagging floors, and it’s something we see every single day.

Here are the 3 most common causes:
🔩 Too much distance between supports along the girder. Supports should sit about 5-6 feet apart. When they’re spaced 7, 8, even 9 feet, the girder dips in the middle.

🏠 Overspanning from the girder to the foundation wall. A big open area without proper support leads to a dip in the middle of the room.

💧 Moisture. This one is very common. Excess moisture weakens the wood and reduces its tensile strength over time. During our inspections, we take humidity and wood moisture readings to find out if that’s what’s going on.
