This is what drain cleaning actually looks like.

That “snake” is a drain-cleaning cable working its way through an overhead sewer line to break up whatever is slowing things down.

A clogged drain doesn’t always mean something is wrong with the pipe itself. Buildup, grease, roots, debris and other blockages can restrict flow over time. Running the right cable through the line helps clear the obstruction and get things moving again.

Just a brand-new sewer pipe getting pulled through the old one.

This is pipe bursting — instead of digging up the entire length of an old sewer line, we break the existing pipe apart underground while pulling the new pipe into its place.

Less digging. Less mess. And a whole lot less yard to put back together.

Not exactly glamorous… but around here, a new sewer line is kind of a big deal. 💩

Tree roots: great for trees. Terrible for sewer lines. 🌳💩

These roots are just part of what was between us and the sewer line — but they’re also a good reminder of what can happen underground.

Tree roots are constantly looking for water. If a sewer pipe has a crack, separated joint, or other opening, those roots can find their way inside and keep growing. Over time, they can restrict the pipe and lead to slow drains, backups, and repeat sewer problems.

🎶 “That smell…” 🎶

And yeah… we know exactly what was causing it. 😂

This pipe burst started with the new pipe coming through the trench where the old clay tile sewer had been sitting. By the end of it, we had pulled out a seriously impressive section of the old clay tile that had been buried down there.

Another sewer problem getting kicked out of the ground: 💪

Sometimes you don’t really know what’s going on underground until you dig it up.

That’s where Archie’s comes in. We handle the ugly stuff, the buried stuff, and the jobs other plumbers would rather not touch.

Josh and Brick are working on estimates, because apparently somebody has to figure out what all that digging is going to cost before we start digging. 😂

Brick doesn’t say much, but she’s a pretty solid supervisor.
