This Longmont property is a great example of what happens when design and installation are handled as one process. This one is pretty special to us. ⛰️

If you followed along with the wall project we were sharing earlier this summer, here is the finished product.

This was without a doubt one of the most challenging, unique, and rewarding projects we’ve taken on at AGT.

Over the course of the build, we moved and placed hundreds of thousands of pounds of Colorado buff slabs, working our way across a steep foothills property to create the large retaining walls, terraces, and massive stone stair systems you see throughout the landscape.

There was a lot of figuring things out as we went. A lot of collaboration. A lot of machine work, hand work, and attention to how each individual piece of stone fit into the bigger picture. And definitely a lot of sweating through the dog days of summer.

But that’s also what made this project so rewarding.

Once the walls and terraces came together, we built the tri-color saw-cut flagstone patio around the pool, and that was really the piece that brought the entire property together. The different colors and character of the flagstone play incredibly well against the Colorado buff slabs and give the center of the landscape a completely different feel without looking out of place.

We finished it off with granite surfacing, planting areas, trees, shrubs and perennials throughout the terraces—adding some softness back into a landscape built around a massive amount of stone.

The end result is hard to describe better than the pictures do.

It feels like a natural stone oasis tucked into the foothills west of Berthoud, and more importantly, it feels like it belongs on this property.

There are certain jobs you finish and immediately know you’re going to remember for a long time. This is one of them.

Extremely proud of what our crew accomplished here and grateful to have clients who trusted us enough to take on something this ambitious.
