Let’s talk rock 🪨

If you are looking for a low-maintenance, long-lasting ground cover for your landscaping beds, rock is a solid choice. It comes in different colors, sizes, and textures and is a popular choice by many.

✔️ Don’t have to replace regularly
✔️ Can last for many years
✔️ Good drainage
✔️ Helps with w**d control
✔️ Great curb appeal
✔️ Lots of varieties
✔️ Works well around hardscapes

The downside is that rock has a higher upfront cost, is harder to change, can get very hot, and doesn’t add nutrients like mulch can.

Every landscaping material has trade offs, so the decision ultimately depends on the homeowner’s preference. If you want a durable, clean-looking landscape with less upkeep, rock may be your answer. 🌱🛘

Healthy plants and a healthy lawn start with proper watering 💦 Small changes in how and when you water can make a big difference, especially in this heat wave we’re experiencing 🥵

Remember:

💧 Water deeply, not daily
A deep soak 2–3 times a week encourages roots to grow deeper, making your plants/lawn healthier and more drought-resistant. Aim for about 1 inch of water per week.

🌅 Water early in the morning
The best time is between 5:00–9:00 AM. Cooler temps mean less evaporation, giving your plants/lawn more time to absorb moisture.

💦 Water the roots—not the leaves
Focus on soaking the soil to reduce evaporation and help prevent fungal diseases.

🌱 Water new plants more often
Freshly planted trees, shrubs, and flowers need consistent moisture while their roots become established.

👣 Check before you water
For lawns, if the grass springs back after you walk on it, it probably doesn’t need water yet. If footprints remain, it’s time to water.
