To all our cedar planter owners:

The best way to extend the life of your planter is to line the inside before adding soil. We recommend a simple black plastic liner or landscape fabric with drainage holes. This keeps constant moisture off the wood and helps it last longer.

If you want to maintain that fresh cedar color, you can apply a breathable, oil-based exterior finish. Otherwise, the cedar will naturally age to a beautiful silvery gray.

We’re excited to officially launch Yates Family Woodworks!

This is a family project where we’re building handmade wooden pieces together and teaching our kids how to run a small business from the ground up.

We just finished our first cedar planter box and are starting to take orders. Each one is built by hand right here at home.
