To all our cedar planter owners:
The best way to extend the life of your planter is to line the inside before adding soil. We recommend a simple black plastic liner or landscape fabric with drainage holes. This keeps constant moisture off the wood and helps it last longer.
If you want to maintain that fresh cedar color, you can apply a breathable, oil-based exterior finish. Otherwise, the cedar will naturally age to a beautiful silvery gray.
A little prep now goes a long way!
