This backyard remodel had it all—tight access, a natural stone retaining wall, and a pondless water feature designed to bring the whole space together.

We added a dedicated seating area with steel edging and decomposed granite around the fire pit area creating a clean, durable space that fits perfectly to the landscape.

Retaining walls are a lot more labor than most people realize.

We select a stone, set it in place, pull it back out, trim it, cut it, hammer on it, try it again, adjust it again… until it sits exactly the way we want it.

At Land and Stone, our standards are higher than most. We want consistent, tight joints on all sides. We want every stone level, stable, and set solid with no rocking or movement.

We’re not building it to look good for a few years. We build it to last longer than any of us will be alive.

That’s the difference between stacking rocks and building with stone.

This project is where natural stone, ingenuity, and good design really shine. We came up with a custom solution to work with the settling of the existing concrete while relocating the gas grill and transforming the space into a functional fire pit area.

From demolition to the finished backyard, every detail was designed and built by Land and Stone.
