Phellinus sulphurascens, a fungal pathogen, induces laminated root rot, a severe disease affecting conifers, particularly Douglas-fir, by causing decaying wood to delaminate into thin sheets. This disease manifests as yellowing foliage, stunted growth, and trees succumbing to severe root damage. To mitigate such damage, it is advisable to engage a local certified arborist or trusted tree professional to conduct a thorough inspection of your trees and provide expert treatment and guidance to prevent these types of issues.
