Shel Silverstein wrote the poem Listen to the Mustn’ts which anchored my thinking when I was painting Anything Can Be…I looked at this little child with all her bright energy and felt the words ringing through her.
Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.

Sharing this little 10” x10” oil painting titled ‘The Newness’ available through 33 Contemporary on Artsy.
I look at it and it brings memories of all the babies I’ve loved- our own four and so many nieces and nephews and now our first grandchildren rapidly multiplying…
It was just a bit over 2 years ago when I was holding Rose and Molly at this age, and now with little Ada and Rowan, our newest littles and soon two more (twins) our arms are full😍
