Welcome to Fire Creek Bakehouse.

If you're new here, I'm Blake.

For years, I spent my evenings in my woodworking shop. I loved creating things with my hands, and I still do. But over time I realized something...

The shop was taking me away from the very people I was working so hard for.

Two of my kids have already graduated from high school. My youngest only has a couple of years left at home, and a few months ago I became a grandparent.

It made me stop and think about how quickly life moves.
I didn't want to spend these years watching family life happen from across the yard.

So instead of building in my workshop, I'm building something new in my kitchen.

Fire Creek Bakehouse isn't just about bread, cookies, or cinnamon rolls.

It's about slowing down long enough to gather around the table with the people who matter most.

I'm excited to share this journey with you and grateful you're here from the beginning.

The wait is over… we’re officially stepping into our next chapter!

We (Against the Grain) are proud to introduce our new name:
Fire Creek Artisans

The name carries our story within it:

- Fire reflects the energy and precision of the laser beam that fuels so much of our creativity.
- Creek honors the stream that runs behind our property—a reminder of our roots and the steady flow of inspiration.
- Artisans speaks to the craftsmanship, care, and handmade quality behind everything we create.
This new identity reflects the craftsmanship, artistry, and innovation that continue to shape our journey forward.

Thank you for walking with us through every chapter. We’re excited to keep creating with you as Fire Creek Artisans.

Please be patient with us as we make this transition. Changing platforms, our email address, logos and social media profiles is taking a little longer than we anticipated. We will keep you updated as things progress and when our website is live.

As many of you know, Jamon and I recently attended a business conference in Dallas. Along with being a time of rest, it gave us the opportunity to step back and reflect on the direction of our business.
When we launched Against the Grain, the vision was custom furniture. But shortly after, we introduced a laser to our shop—and with it came an entirely new range of possibilities. Over time, it became clear that our original name and logo no longer captured who we are or the work we create today.

That’s why we’ve made the decision to rebrand. This change reflects not just what we do, but the craftsmanship, artistry, and innovation that continue to shape our journey.

We’re so excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to share the new name with you soon!

At the Next Level Laser conference in Dallas this weekend. I’m here to learn, relax and reset my focus on my business.

But this guy right here. My rock. He took vacation from work, he drove me all they way up here (while I slept), he’s sitting in classes with me and not falling asleep and he’s even going to a few on his own.

He has never been anything short of supportive of this endeavor. He encourages when I need it and has the tough conversations as well. I can’t thank God enough for him. ❤️💙🖤
