Removing a large pine tree that had decayed and was causing safety concerns for nearby structures. Our team safely completed the task and cleared the area.
"Dead pine trees should be removed because they are a safety hazard, can cause property damage, and attract pests that could spread to healthy trees. They are unpredictable and their branches can snap off without warning, potentially causing serious injury or costly damage to homes, vehicles, and other structures. "
How to tell if a pine tree is decaying ~
1. Peeling or crumbling bark: The bark may detach from the trunk in large sections.
2. Fungal growth: Mushrooms or other fungi may appear on the trunk, branches, or around the base of the tree.
3. Holes and tunnels: Look for holes in the bark from pests like borers or evidence of insects beneath the bark.
4. Cracks and soft spots: There may be cracks or soft, crumbling areas on the trunk or branches.
5. Sawdust: A fine sawdust around the base of the tree can indicate insects are boring through the wood.
6. Root damage: The tree may be leaning, and the soil around the base may be cracked or heaving, showing the roots are unstable.
