At Troops Need Roofs, we've always believed that the greatest impact happens when businesses, nonprofits, manufacturers, contractors, and community leaders come together around a common purpose. One recent experience reminded us just how powerful those relationships can be.
One Phone Call Can Change Everything
Recently, a veteran reached out to Troops Need Roofs facing a difficult situation.
His home had sustained significant wind and hail damage, and while his homeowners insurance covered a portion of the repairs, it left his family with a substantial financial burden. Even more concerning, he and his family were preparing to leave on a long-planned vacation and feared returning to a home damaged by rain because of an exposed roof.
This wasn't simply a roofing problem.
It was a family looking for peace of mind.
Relationships Make the Difference
Knowing time was critical, we reached out to one of our trusted partners, GAF Territory Manager John Arellano, asking if he knew of a veteran-owned roofing company in the San Antonio area that might be willing to help a fellow veteran.
Within minutes, John connected us with Ideal Precision Roofing & Exteriors.
A quick phone call led to another introduction, and before the day was over, Vice President James Keithley was coordinating directly with the homeowner.
The following day, a brand-new emergency tarp had been professionally installed—completely free of charge.
Thanks to the generosity and responsiveness of these professionals, the veteran and his family were able to leave for their vacation knowing their home was protected until permanent repairs could be made.
That is the power of community.
