Be careful what General Contractors or Company you choose to build your custom home. Some builders choose to hire subcontractors who are not properly licensed or insured and will hire just about anyone who is willing to undercut real Licensed contractors with years of experience so they can make an extra profit on your home loan.
This has been our experience here in Bastrop County recently and around central Texas. Now we are seeing lawsuit after lawsuit. When you choose real licensed & insured contractors, you are paying for real quality and qualified professionals who have dedicated their lives to help people build their dream homes.
***Texas does not require General Contractors to be licensed.***
Be sure and do your research. You can even ask us! We will tell you!
***So ask your GC where exactly are they getting these subs? Who’s the Master in the trade?
***Ask for work visas and valid identification of each person stepping on your property.
*** Ask for proper licenses even if it’s not required.
*** Ask to see Insurance and W9’s.
*** Ask why your GC is choosing this company over another you may trust more.
*** Ask your GC what their profit margins entail.
Because we can confirm some of them are not being honest.
