Another Happy Customer! 🏠🔧

A recent customer was preparing to sell their home when a real estate agent identified an issue with the bathroom exhaust fan. The vent was discharging into the attic instead of venting to the exterior of the home, which raised concerns about code compliance.
I was able to provide a solution by installing the proper venting system, cutting and finishing a new exterior vent opening, and ensuring the bathroom exhaust was routed correctly to the outside. The project was completed professionally, helping the homeowner address the concern and move forward with confidence in the sale process.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a project I wrapped up this evening.

This customer needed handrails installed to meet insurance requirements, but more importantly, to make getting up and down the stairs safer and easier. He liked the classic industrial pipe look, so I custom-cut the rails to size and welded on end caps for a clean, finished appearance.

I also restored a small window with decorative bars that had seen better days at his place while I was there. I repaired and reinforced the frame, added new wood where needed, and secured everything back together for added strength and longevity.

I still have a few final touch-ups to complete once the glue has fully cured, and add a few caps for the posts but I’m very happy with how this project turned out. It’s always rewarding to combine functionality, safety, and a customer’s personal style into one finished product.

The homeowner contacted me regarding structural and moisture concerns with the existing deck. Upon inspection, it was clear the deck had been improperly rebuilt by the previous owner and did not meet proper building standards. These deficiencies were also noted by the insurance company.
I performed a full demolition of both the old and newer deck assemblies to the house connection. During removal, improper ledger attachment and insufficient flashing were identified. This turned to water intrusion and rot at the band joist.
Once the area was opened, I was able to temporarily trim it, properly flash and seal it to the house, and maintain a watertight condition. The exterior wall assembly will be re-evaluated this summer with a full inspection, and any necessary structural repairs will be completed prior to new siding installation.
