PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN AND THE ENVIRONMENT ONE CURB INLET AT A TIME!
Child Safety and Patented Curb Inlet Protection Guards
Walker Mill Regional Park
Over the past 14 years, our Child Safety and Patented Curb Inlet Protection Guards have been working 24/7/365 in many locations around the USA, weathering storms and floods. The Maryland National Capital Park & Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) recently asked us to install our Inlet Guards at Walker Mill Regional Park in District Heights, MD. On June 29, 2012, the infamous “Super Derecho” storm devastated the East Coast and the Washington DC Metro area.
This phenomenal storm provided an excellent opportunity to evaluate the performance of our Guards in a major rain event. Upon inspection of the park’s brand new stormwater system (from curb openings to retention ponds) the day after the super storm, the Guards’ performance went well beyond expectations.
M-NCPPC’s Landscape Architects, Brenda Iraola and Rene Albacete, recognized the child safety and environmental protection benefits of installing our Guards in the Park to help prevent debris from entering the stormwater system.
Amy’s is confident that the trash and debris load to our waterways and the Chesapeake Bay would be reduced significantly once our Child Safety and Patented Curb Inlet Protection Guards are installed, protecting our children and the environment one curb inlet at a time.
