A bit about the owners of Hamsa Handmade:

Cynthu Muthusamy graduated in 2014 with a BFA in Printmaking and Humanistic Studies with a concentration in Book Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art. She is a first generation American, spending her childhood growing up between her home in New Jersey and her family that lives in the South Indian region of Tamil Nadu. Cynthu's avid interest in indi

genous culture, Goddess worship, and post-colonial identity has lead her to create multidisciplinary work integrating the fields of fine art printmaking, performance art, and academic writing. She currently resides in Baltimore City, Maryland and hopes to raise awareness in earth revering traditions as well as incorporating sustainable practices in daily life. Katie Emmitt graduated with a BFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014. She is a 22 year-old visual artist, flow artist, hoop maker, and teacher from Annapolis, MD. Katie started her hoop-teaching career in 2012 by posting dozens of free online YouTube tutorials – by 2014 she had over 8,000 subscribers on YouTube. This past year, Katie embarked on a nation wide hoop tour – hitting 38 states in a matter of four months, and teaching over 30 hoop workshops across the US. She continues to teach both locally and up and down the East Coast while running her online shop, kemmitthoops.com.

Hello friends that are traveling to Mantrabash this weekend!!

Please feel free to come by my Multimedia Mandala workshop at the picnic pavilion this friday at 10AM and 3:45 PM. The organizers have been generous enough to give me two slots for my workshop so all of you late risers can learn about and make your own mandalas as well!

This workshop will allow attendees to explore the possibilities of the geometric, radiating, and patterned forms of the mandala. The practice of mandala making can be used as a spiritual guidance tool, establishing sacred spaces, and an aid in meditation. Materials will be provided, and participants are also welcome to collect and bring their own stones, shells, sand, or any material you can find in multiples.

Cannot wait to experience all of your radiant faces and creativity! Happy travels.

PS these are some photos from other workshops I have held if you are interested in taking a peek at what it looks like!
