Can we be honest?

How many times have you explained a decision you didn’t actually need to explain?

“I can’t make it because…”
“I just need to…”
“I hope that’s okay…”

I’ve done it too.

Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught that saying “no” wasn’t enough.

That we had to soften it.

Make it easier for everyone else to accept.

But here’s what I’ve learnt.
Every time I over-explain, I’m looking for permission.

And I don’t need it.

Neither do you.
One of the greatest gifts of getting older is realising you don’t have to justify every choice you make.

Protect your peace.

The people who matter will understand.
And the people who don’t…
Were never looking for an explanation anyway.

Can we talk about retirement for a minute?
Most of us have spent years worrying about our super.
But how many of us have thought about the body we’ll retire in?

I don’t lift weights because I’m chasing the body I had at 25.
I lift because I want to carry my own suitcase at 75.
Travel.
Stay independent.
Take on the stairs without thinking twice.
Keep saying “yes” to adventures.

That’s the goal.

Because the strongest investment you can make isn’t just into your bank account.
