Bee City USA®-Decatur, GA is teaming up with Bee Campus USA®-Agnes Scott College to present a FREE film screening of the new documentary "The Little Things That Run The World." The event will be held on Thursday, February 26th, 7 pm, inside Graves Auditorium at Agnes Scott College's Campbell Hall, Decatur, GA, 30030.

About the film
Over millennia, humanity has mastered agriculture, raised monumental bridges and temples, walked on the Moon, but do we truly run the world? In this captivating documentary, filmmakers Dru Carr and Doug Hawes-Davis refocus their lens on a far more powerful force: insects. By zooming in on the reality of bees, butterflies, beetles, and their kin—tiny, alien-like architects of life—they reveal how these distant cousins on our evolutionary tree sustain ecosystems and, ultimately, our own survival. As they face unprecedented decline, their fate becomes a stark warning: without them, neither we nor the planet can endure.

Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers have returned to Georgia for the winter! ❄️

According to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Yellow-belled Sapsuckers are known to use human-produced materials to amplify their territorial drumming, i.e. gutters, street signs, and metal chimney flashing, much to the chagrin of many homeowners.

Thanks to enhanced padding inside their heads, the sapsuckers suffer no ill effects from whacking their bills repeatedly on metal, and many will return to a favorite metal object day after day to pound out their Morse code-like message.

Have you spotted (or heard!) any Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers yet this month?
