🌱 A quick reminder: the job isn't finished until the cleanup is done.
No matter how good the lawn looks, leaving grass clippings all over the street isn't a professional finish. It's a hazard.
Mow. Trim. Edge. Clean up.
The details matter. 👌
Don't be like these guys.

Last week, I pulled into my driveway around 8 PM after a long evening of mowing.
Like most nights, I checked my voicemail before heading inside.
One message stopped me in my tracks.
It was from a woman who sounded completely defeated.
A widow.
Alone.
Trying to make ends meet.
Family members busy with lives of their own.
A yard she could no longer keep up with.
No money to spare.
No idea where else to turn.
What struck me most wasn't that she needed her grass cut.
It was that she was embarrassed.
She told me how her neighbors all kept beautiful properties and how she didn't want to be "the eyesore of the street."
At that hour, I called her back.
I listened.
Not to her lawn problems.
To her sadness.
To her worries.
To her hopes.
A few evenings later, we met in person.
We talked for quite a while.
She told me about volunteering through her church and helping with children's events despite struggling herself.
She talked about her dreams, most of them centered around her children rather than herself.
She talked about the anxiety that comes with not knowing what tomorrow brings when resources are limited and every dollar matters.
As she spoke, I realized something.
This wasn't a lawn care call.
This was someone looking for a little relief.
A little hope.
A little kindness.
Finally, I stopped her mid-conversation.
"I've already decided what I'm going to do."
She looked confused.
"I'll take care of the yard while I'm here, free of charge. You've been through enough recently, and I hope this provides some relief."
She looked at me with wide unbelieving eyes and asked,
"Today?"
"Yes. I'll start right now."
"Just you? What about your crew?"
I laughed.
"No need for an entire crew for this. I run the company because I'm more than efficient on my own for a job this size. No worries from here."

The truth is, this is why Ligi's Local Lawn Care exists.
Not because grass grows.
Not because lawns need mowing.
But because sometimes life happens.
Sometimes people are hurting and all they need is someone willing to answer the phone.

If there's one thing I'd ask of everyone reading this, it's this:
Check on your neighbors.
Especially those living alone.
A tall lawn might not be laziness.
It might be grief.
It might be illness.
It might be someone quietly fighting a battle they never asked for.
Be kind.
Be neighborly.
You never know how much a small act of compassion can mean to someone who has lost hope.
❤️🌱

Thick Brush? High Weeds? No Problem for us to tackle.

These before-and-after photos are more than just a lawn cleanup—they're a reminder that many of our neighbors are struggling. Not Everyone Can Afford the Help They Need.

At Ligi's Local Lawn Care, we're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-electric lawn care company with a mission to help elderly, disabled, veteran, and low-income community members maintain safe, healthy properties with dignity.

Unfortunately, not everyone can afford even basic lawn maintenance. Overgrown grass and brush can quickly become a safety hazard, attract pests, lead to code violations, and create stress for people already facing difficult circumstances.

❤️ That's where you come in.

I got home and realized our client left a note on a bag she handed me after I completed some extensive landscaping at her home. She wouldn't let me leave before happily setting me up with a set of grilled hot dogs and some chips to go.
Some well needed fuel before the next job.
Thank you, Kirsten!

We love and appreciate our customers.
