🌿 Classroom to field — this is how we grow.
Part of our crew spent the day at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Center for a full Plant ID workshop presented by . What started inside with specimens in hand moved outside into the beautiful prairie of the wildflower center, walking through live burn plots, standing in fields of Black-eyed Susans, and learning to read the land the way nature intended it to be read.
Our guide was John Hart Asher , Co-Founder and Senior Environmental Designer at Blackland Collaborative and host of PBS's Central Texas Gardener, one of the most knowledgeable ecologists working in Texas today. He didn't just teach plant names. He taught our crew how native landscapes function.
This is what investing in people looks like. When our crew understands the land, they restore it better. 🙌
