Atlanta weather keeps us on our toes. 🙌After weeks of spring-like warmth, tonight’s freeze is a reminder of how quickly things can change.❄️

When temperatures drop suddenly like this in March, landscapes are especially vulnerable because many plants have already started budding.

• Cover tender plants and early blooms
• Move potted plants to sheltered areas
• Turn off irrigation systems
• Check newly planted material and young shrubs

These quick cold snaps are common in the Southeast, but a little preparation can prevent a lot of damage.

An ice storm can be brutal on trees, shrubs, and hardscapes, but a few quick steps can reduce damage and make cleanup safer.🙏

🌨 Before the storm (today/Friday), make sure to secure loose items and lightly tie up vulnerable shrubs (aborvitae, boxwoods) with twine. Use what mulch you have around plants to insulate them.

💙After it melts, do a walk-through and look up for hanging limbs (they can drop later). Leave big tree work to pros; storm-damaged trees are unpredictable (tension, splits, partial breaks).

Spring landscaping prep is the secret to a smooth build 🌿 Get a jump start on spring projects now:
✅ Site walk + measurements (sun/shade, drainage, utilities)
✅ Define goals + budget (low-maintenance, kid/pet-friendly, privacy, entertaining)
✅ Pick your “must-haves” (patio, walkway, lighting, irrigation, planting beds)
✅ Confirm materials + lead times (pavers, stone, plants)
✅ Prep the space (cleanup, grading plan, soil/bed plan, irrigation layout)

🌿 Fun Friday: The OG Garden Guardians 🌿
Every now and then, while we’re out on a landscape maintenance job, we will stumble upon a familiar little face. In 19th-century Germany, people believed these little bearded statues protected gardens, watched over the soil, and brought good luck to the land. They were said to sneak out at night to help plants grow and scare off pests.

Today, we handle the heavy lifting, and they handle the vibes. 😎

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001. It’s a day that reminds us of loss, but also of unity, courage, and resilience. May we continue to honor the memory of those we lost by fostering understanding, kindness, and compassion in our daily work and lives.

In July and August, we receive many calls about stressed-out lawns. Here’s what to watch for:
✅ Brown or straw-colored? That’s usually drought stress, but it could also be disease (like Dollar Spot) or even pest damage.
✅ Looking thin? It might not be getting enough sun, or you could be mowing too short—both slow down growth.
✅ Blades feel crisp? That’s a big clue your lawn is suffering from heat/drought, chemical burn, or even compacted soil blocking water and nutrients.

Vibrant-colored flowers are excellent for curb appeal because they create an inviting, eye-catching look that enhances a property's first impression. Bright blooms can make a home, multifamily property, or retail space feel more welcoming and well-maintained.
