This is a reminder of our Open Garden tomorrow (Saturday, June 11) and Sunday, June 12 from 8:00 AM to 12 Noon. We have a lot of clumps of daylilies in full bloom, some just starting, and some coming later. David and I spent much of the day deadheading and live heading the garden. We did not quite finish, but we were tired and decided to call it a day. This is our one day of the year to live head. This may be a new term for some. It means that we took off all the daylily blooms today, so that tomorrow the daylilies will only have fresh, new blooms. Each daylily bloom is good for only one day. We also removed all the old, spent blooms. Shady Rest Gardens is an American Daylily Garden since 2009. The only daylilies that will be dug are David's FREE seedlings and clumps on the Spring Clump Sale List on our website.

For our local Facebook friends or those within driving distance to Cartersville, GA, we will have an Open Garden the mornings of Saturday, June 11, Sunday, June 12, and Sunday, June 19 from 8:00 AM to 12 Noon. The daylilies are blooming now along with the hydrangeas, Japanese iris, and lots more. If you need directions, please send me a personal message or email [email protected]. I will try to post pictures the next week or two of some of the daylilies that are now blooming. I almost forgot to mention that David's seedlings are in full bloom. He will be giving away many of them. It is a good time to select the ones you want and take some FREE seedlings (blooming daylilies) home with you! David will be ready to dig. We will not be digging any other daylilies other than seedlings or daylily clumps from our Spring Clump Sale (list can be found on our website: https://bishop.plantfans.com/Page/SPRING_CLUMP_SALE_2022)

Shipping season is over for 2021! I want to thank everyone who bought Shady Rest Gardens daylilies. Below is a picture of some of our last shipments consisting of over 90 daylilies. It is time to rest a bit and then dig, divide, and line out daylilies for Fall 2022 sales.
