New South Construction Company Firm History The majority of our projects today consist of repeat business and referrals, proving we have undoubtedly succeeded in our earlier mission.

New South Construction Company (New South) is a mid-sized general contracting firm founded in March of 1990 by Doug Davidson, who serves as President. Since our first project, twenty-seven years ago, New South has believed that service to our customers would provide and establish a path for our company’s future. In the beginning, New South acquired a solid, select and enviable group of clients, wh

ich included: Delta Air Lines, The Coca-Cola Company, General Mills and Wesleyan School. Twenty-seven years later, we continue to provide construction services for each and every one of these customers. Today our services cater to a wide range of clients and their needs, these markets include: universities, private clubs, K-12 schools, places of worship, multi-family, senior living, criminal justice, aviation and industrial all of which have helped to round out our company’s portfolio. Our philosophy and principles have resulted in our continuous growth and success, however despite our growth, we remain client driven rather than revenue driven. We continue to provide construction services for the same companies we worked with during our first year in business, which speaks for itself in the quality of work and service provided by our Company.

When Doug Davidson, a Auburn University McWhorter School of Building Science graduate, founded New South in 1990, he built the company on a commitment to quality, integrity, and relationships. His philosophy was simple: do what you say you’re going to do, when you say you’re going to do it, and do it right the first time. From day one, this approach shaped New South and continues to define how we operate today. New South is proud to have 14 Auburn alumni across our organization who help carry forward the culture Doug created.

To close out Safety Week, our mission critical project team turned awareness into action by hosting a raffle that raised over $13,000 for Kids' Chance of Georgia, Inc.

Safety Week is not only about jobsite protocols and prevention, but also about protecting people and supporting families impacted by workplace accidents. Kids’ Chance GA provides educational scholarships to the children of Georgia workers who have been seriously, catastrophically, or fatally injured in work-related incidents.

We’re proud to support an organization that helps families move forward and reinforces the importance of keeping safety at the center of everything we do.

Out at H-JAIA, the AAC team is tracking toward a 75% recycling goal. As materials leave the jobsite, we make a concerted effort to separate waste from recyclable materials. This milestone is a strong reminder that even in construction, we can take meaningful steps to support the environment. As we push toward project completion, we remain committed to continuing our recycling efforts and hope to exceed this goal.
