This is a 4 hour online Zoom class

that qualifies for 4 IICRC Continuing Education Credits

You need either a computer or phone with a camera and microphone... and of course internet access to take this class.

All classes will be limited to 20 students per class.

Here is a Brief Description of the class:

The Science of Stain Removal

What we hope to accomplish

Removal without noticeable color or texture change from the original state

Defining Spots & Stains

Explaining the mechanisms involved

Categories of stains Synthetic dyes, Organic stains, Petroleum Stains and Protein base stains and “Mystery” stains)

Tools of the trade… what makes a good spotting kit?

What causes stains to set?

The five “Categories of Stain Removal”

From pH paper to tamping brushes from oxidizers to specialty spotters.

Combination stains

Solvents NVDS versus VDS

Understanding Oxidation and Reduction

Increasing chemical reactivity

Rapid Re-Soil vs. Wicking

There will also be live demonstrations of spotting techniques, covering the simple to difficult: Ink, kool-aid, wine, mustard, coffee and make-up are all on the roster!

I had a great time teaching an online only class this week in carpet repair and re-installation! The class may have been online, however I do everything I can to do live demonstrations of the tools and techniques to make it the best class I can !!!
