Why we're applying lime to Georgia lawns right now (January!): Georgia's soils are often acidic from rain & clay, locking up nutrients so your Bermuda, Zoysia, or Centipede can't fully use fertilizer. Low pH = thinner grass, slower green-up, more w**ds. Lime raises pH to the ideal range (5.5-6.5 for most warm-season turf, per UGA Extension), unlocking nutrients for:
Thicker, greener spring growth
Better fertilizer efficiency
Stronger roots & drought resistance Winter is perfect—grass is dormant (no stress!), rain & freeze-thaw help it work in gradually for explosive green-up come spring. We always base it on soil tests for the right amount. Your lawn's getting proactive care while it rests!
