We’re excited to share that the John Henry Faulk Building of the Austin History Center, Austin Public Library has earned LEED® Gold Certification for Commercial Interiors!

Originally built as the second iteration of Austin's Central Library (Austin Public Library), the building was renovated and restored to provide additional archive capacity for the adjacent Austin History Center, while preserving its historic character. The project includes a complete interior restoration and renovation, including new building systems, public meeting areas, a gallery, and a reading room, inviting the community to engage with Austin's history like never before.

LEED® Gold certification for Commercial Interiors recognizes the project’s approach to incorporating sustainable strategies into the renovation and restoration of this historic building.

Lord Aeck Sargent is proud to have been part of this project, bringing new life and purpose to an important piece of Austin’s architectural and civic history.

We’re excited to see the Tillman Hall Auditorium project recognized alongside other important preservation work at Clemson University.

Clemson recently shared more about the university’s 2026 Preservation South Carolina Historic Preservation Awards, highlighting the projects and partnerships helping preserve its historic campus for future generations.

Lord Aeck Sargent is proud to have contributed to this work alongside Clemson University and Harper General Contractors , and grateful to see the project included among this year’s recognized preservation efforts.

We’re excited to share these stunning photographs by Jonathan Hillyer Photography, Inc. of our recently completed design for the Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience, University of Florida.

Lord Aeck Sargent and our local architectural partner TTV Architects, Inc. have created a new home for cutting-edge research focused on biosciences using marine models for new discoveries. Completed earlier this year, the new building has state-of-the-art research laboratories focused on a variety of disciplines, including genomics, chemistry, biomechanics, and many others. The project also houses a sea turtle research center and hospital, offices, and a visitor center.

Over the weekend, Lord Aeck Sargent was honored to receive an AIA Aspire Conference 2026 Honor Award in Adaptive Reuse and Historic Preservation for our work at Davidson College’s Oak Row.

We’re proud to see this project recognized for its thoughtful approach to preserving and revitalizing an important part of the Davidson College campus. Thank you to our partners and collaborators who helped bring this project to life, and congratulations to all of the 2026 AIA Aspire Conference Award recipients!

We’re excited to announce that Lord Aeck Sargent’s design, drip-drop, has been selected for the 2026 Waterloo Greenway Creek Show in Austin, Texas. The installation will be part of this year’s exhibition, joining nine other creative installations on display November 13–21, from 6-10pm.

About drip-drop:
Light ripples from the underside of the bridge, condensing inwards to a stone, until a droplet falls. Below, another stone catches that droplet, the light fading back into the creek. As the light fades, the cycle begins anew above. The gathering, movement, and dispersal of light evokes the cyclical movement of water through Austin. The illumination of the droplet immerses visitors in the cycle, the echoes of the drop reverberating around them. By making each drop visible and intentional, drip-drop transforms into a contemplative exploration of water conservation. As visitors are immersed in drip-drop’s movement, the message becomes clear: we are a part of the cycles that surround us, and we have the chance to care for them.

With the opening of Bud and Val Peterson Residence Hall, Georgia Tech is returning to a traditional residence hall model for the first time in nearly 70 years.

For first-year students, where you live can play an important role in how you experience campus. The design brings students together through shared spaces that encourage informal interaction, from community lounges and communal kitchens to collaborative learning and recreation spaces.

Designed in collaboration with Mithun, Bud and Val Peterson Residence Hall brings a contemporary approach to a familiar model of student living.
