Episode 3: How Does Passalora Spread?
This is the part most people don’t realize…
Passalora fungus spreads through airborne spores — especially during wet, humid weather (which Georgia gives us plenty of). Rain splash, irrigation, and even wind can move it from tree to tree.
When Leyland cypress are planted too close together, there’s less airflow… which creates the perfect damp environment for the fungus to thrive and spread fast.
Once one tree has it, the rest of your privacy line can be at risk.
That’s why spacing, airflow, and early monitoring matter more than most people think.
If you’re noticing browning starting on the inside of your trees, don’t wait. 🌳
