Okay ATL friends, remember Dec of 22? It’s coming back. Get ready!
1) Turn off your all your external hose bibs at the shut off valves inside your house & open them up outside!
2) If you can’t find those valves (look under all your sinks) or if your internal hose bib valves don’t work, call me. If I can’t get to you, drip them!
3) If your kitchen sink is on an external wall, be ready to drip it & keep the cabinet doors open.
4) Locate your main shut off valve inside your house and make sure it works! If it doesn’t, call me.
5) If you don’t have one, get yourself a water meter valve key from Home Depot and locate your water meter box at the street. If you can’t close the valve such that the little holes line up, contact your County’s water service and get them out ASAP.
6) Locate your Home Owner’s Insurance policy.

PSA If you are flooding and you can’t turn your water off at the street, go to your Water Heater and look for this. It’s a expansion tank. It branches off a larger pipe - that’s the water supply to your house. Work your way along that pipe, away from the water heater and look for another T-junction of EQUAL SIZED PIPES. Look for a valve there to shut off the water.
