Cast stone is a precast concrete product that can be custom colored, structurally reinforced, and made in various shapes and lengths. It is made of sand, cement, and water and is normally cast using the Vibrant Dry Tamp (VDT) method. Corbelstone cast stone is a quality product that is an affordable alternative to the elegant look provided by limestone.



2. Cast stone can be manufactured in cust

om colors, shapes, and sizes. This makes it easier to assemble than cutting natural stone and trying to make it fit and also reduces the amount of waste. The cost is ⅓ to ½ the cost of natural stone is readily available in unlimited quantities. The choice of colors allows the cast stone product to highlight the appearance of any residential or commercial project.



3. What is the difference between Corbelstone and other cast stone manufacturers? Corbelstone does not simply sell cast stone. 4. Does Corbelstone meet building code requirements? Corbelstone meets or exceeds the following building code requirements:

- Exceeds ASTMC1364-03, which includes ASTM C33, ASTM C150, and ASTM A615/A615M.

- Exceeds Compressive Strength requirements in accordance with ASTM C1194.

- Average strength of 9,080 psi exceeds the ASTM C1364 strength requirement of 6,500 psi by approximately 150%.

- Absorption testing performed in accordance with ASTM C1195:

Method A (Cold Water) Average maximum absorption = < 6%
Method B (Boiling Water) Average maximum absorption = < 10%




5. How important is proper installation of Corbelstone cast stone? As with any building product, proper installation is essential. Since cast stone has the same characteristics of limestone, the same care must e taken when handling and installing the product. Limestone and cast stone are both awkwardly heavy, easily stained, and prone to delicate edges. Both require special handling from delivery to installation. Following industry standard guidelines will produce a beautiful and distinctive compliment to any masonry application.
