More than bricks and sticks! It was a summer of learning, growth, and hands-on experience! 👷‍♂️ 🏗️

Last week, our construction interns, Chase and Sam, shared highlights from their summer with the entire Macallan Construction team. They reflected on their responsibilities, lessons learned in the field, relationships built, and how the experience helped them grow both personally and professionally.

We’re excited to welcome Greg Gentry to Macallan Construction as our new Director of Preconstruction!

Greg brings more than 17 years of experience in estimating, budgeting, and project planning. Known for his thoughtful approach and strong industry relationships, he will lead our estimating team and guide clients from early concepts through contract, building clarity, confidence, and value along the way.

Making progress from the ground up! Our team is completing extensive sitework for Stonemont Financial Group, including grading, stormwater infrastructure, and paving to create a durable, functional parking area.

For July's Macallan University, our team stepped out to one of our active job sites for a day focused on Safety, Schedule & Site Logistics. Our team kicked things off with technical training from Outbuild, followed by Site Logistics Standards led by our own Tad Glasscock and James Jones.

We wrapped up the day with Jobsite Safety Standards presented by Kate Badey and Chris Achenbach of Safety Consultants USA. Thank you for sharing your expertise and sponsoring lunch.

The McCray House restoration is officially complete. 🏡 ✨️

Last week, we joined the City of Acworth, Georgia and community members to celebrate the ribbon cutting of this historic landmark. Now, the keys have been handed over to Bizarre Coffee as they begin preparing their new space.

We're grateful to have played a role in preserving a piece of Acworth history!

Another successful project complete at Highlands Falls Country Club.

After completing a major clubhouse renovation in 2020, our team returned this year to deliver the next phase of improvements, including an expanded covered dining terrace, renovated locker room, kitchen upgrades, and refreshed member spaces.

It's Feature Friday! Get to know a little more about our Superintendent, Judson!

🏗️ What attracted you to construction?
I realized early on in my career that I enjoy seeing tangible results come to life from hard work, dedication, and learning from my mistakes. I have a strong desire for a fast-paced problem-solving environment. Every day brings a new set of challenges, and each project will continue to push you to grow and develop. An added bonus is the variety of companies, people, and relationships you build along the way.

🦺 What advice would you want to give someone who wanted to enter the construction field?
The ethos I use to motivate others is Savage Over Average. Show up, pay attention, and actively listen to what's going on around you. Ask questions and be sure to trust but verify. Avoid complacency.

🚧 Tell us an interesting or fun fact about yourself!
Outside of work, I enjoy riding dirt bikes, spending time outdoors, and live music. I like pushing myself to learn new things and I’m always looking for ways to improve, whether that’s work, leadership, or personal goals.

After months of training, planning, and sharpening our skills, it was time to put the brakes on work and hit the gas.

Our team recently spent the day at Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville, putting our racing skills to the test and enjoying some well-earned time together off the jobsite.

A big thank you to Atlanta Motorsports Park for hosting our crew and providing an unforgettable experience. We had a blast!
