Traveling this weekend? Recycling varies by community, so check locally to see what items are recyclable at your destination.

Planning a road trip? Pack a tote bag in your car to collect recyclables in case recycling containers aren't available. When you return home from vacation, empty the items from the tote bag into your recycling bin.

Enjoy the pool and beach this summer!

Don't place broken floats, sand buckets, and noodles in with your recyclables. If they can't have a second life, remember to bag them and place in the trash can.

Spring semester is almost over which means it's time to pack up and move out of the dorm. Help reduce the amount of waste from campus move-out with these tips:

Donate or sell unwanted furniture, wall decor, lamps. mini refrigerators, non-perishable food, unopened toiletries, rugs, or bedding. Many campuses have designated areas to donate gently used items. Local animal shelters often want gently used blankets and towels.

Recycle flattened boxes, papers, and empty bottles and cans.

Don’t place electronics, light bulbs, batteries, twinkle lights, clothes, binders, desk organizers, pens, pencils, or bedding in with your recyclables. Take electronics, light bulbs, and batteries to drop-off collection sites. Take office supplies and clothing to donation sites.

Check with Campus Sustainability Office for location of donation sites, drop-off collection sites for recyclables, and other resources for moving out.

Have a great summer! ☀️♻️

Planting this spring? Don't place plastic flower trays and pots in with your recyclables. Check with your local nursery, as some stores may accept clean, clear containers or may offer drop-off options for empty containers.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible Street Department team! 👏
These hardworking guys are always ready to jump in and help us keep Newnan clean, green, and beautiful. From start to finish, they make our cleanup events possible by transporting all the collected trash to its final destination—no small task!

It may be a thankless job, but we want you to know just how much it matters. We truly couldn’t do what we do without your support, dedication, and teamwork.

Today (and every day), we are so THANKFUL for you! 💚🌎
