🚨‼️Turf Alert ‼️🚨So far, this May has been cool and extremely dry. We are still experiencing nighttime temperatures in the upper 40’s and low 50’s. We usually see green up in March but not a lot of growth until late May. Bermuda grasses are almost completely soil temperature driven in the spring. The rule of thumb is that until the daytime high and nighttime low temperatures add up to 150 degrees, there will be no strong Bermuda growth.

March is here and we are experiencing warmer than normal temperatures. We are seeing signs of life as some of the bermudagrass is beginning to come out of dormancy. It is technically still winter, and the possibility of frost and colder temperature remain on through the first part of April. We know everyone is anxious for the grass to be fully green and growing again, and so are we. Bermudagrass thrives when soil temperatures are above 65°F to 70°F and higher. Spring is right around the corner.
