Meet the Man Behind cbpdesigns.
My name is Carlton Parker, but most people call me CP. I’ve spent my life as an architect, building everything from PGA Clubhouses to data centers across the country. When I wasn’t at work, you could find me on a golf course or tinkering in my wood shop. Over the years, my passion for woodworking has only increased, and I find myself constantly honing techniques & resources as I approach each project.
With the advent of Pinterest and an increased interest in all that my wood shop could do, my wife “helped” stretch my imagination of projects and finishes. Armed with no more than a screenshot photo and blind courage, I’ve tackled design projects in our own home ranging from simple kitchen cabinet drawer inserts to complicated wall to wall built-in cabinetry. Word spread about my hobby, and a favorite project of mine has to be a custom music room makeover I worked on for a good friend. His vast collection includes thousands of vinyl albums & CDs, and I designed two walls of custom storage & shelving to hold these gems. From sliding CD racks that allowed us to double the storage capacity, to stunning inlaid copper accents, the whole unit came together beautifully.
I’m excited to share my love of woodworking with you - and hopefully help you find design solutions for your home. I begin all projects with an in person consultation & review of desired outcomes. Back at home, I draw an initial rendering in AutoCAD to ensure alignment with the client. This complimentary service is a great way to kick off ideas and project brainstorming. Design services offered include cabinetry for all rooms & any purposes, built-in storage options, and complete remodel planning. For larger remodel projects, I am a registered architect in 42 states with over 20 years experience.
