So here is an aerial view for one of three trees we disposed of for this client. If you’ll notice, these are mostly pines. Pines are considered an evergreen meaning they tend to stay green year round. Look closely and you’ll see there is some browning of the needles in some of these trees. This is because these trees are dying very fast. The cause…. Southern Pine Sawyer Beetle. They are very destructive to pine trees and work very fast at destroying them. We gave this client an estimate approximately a month ago and these trees we still nice and green. These beetles cause holes that have some sap and sawdust on them and you’ll notice a pile of sawdust at the base of the tree. Once these beetles larvae exit the tree a pinewood nematodes enters the tree and really finishes off the life of the tree. If you notice any signs of this give us a call. We will come out and have a look and give you a free estimate on removal of the tree. But don’t wait too long because they move from tree to tree very rapidly.

Got to take down a few this past weekend. We also got to try out a new tool to assist with bringing down trees. In this profession you are always learning something new and we treat every job as a training experience to better ourselves to always make the clients happy. This new tool is called a GRCS (Good rigging control system.) It’s basically a very strong winch that allows your ground person to have greater control of anything that needs to come down. It also allows us to hoist the climber into the tree allowing them to not burn a lot of energy climbing. It’s a win win all around. This tree in particular was next to the clients house, blocking the satellite dish, and there was no way to get a pull vehicle close enough to it. With the GRCS we were able to safely and efficiently pull the tree and all its trimmings always from the house. Do you have problem trees? If so, give us a call for a free estimate.

Here’s some drone footage we took after topping out a pecan tree. And while we’re talking about it. Are you worried about a tree that might be tall enough to hit your house, but you’re unsure? Give us a call. As part of our free estimate we can measure the height and let you know what the possibilities are of it striking a structure if it were to fall.
