🌿Rooted & Wild: Native Plant Sundays

Say hello to the Showy Golden Rod (Solidago Speciosa) 😍 A late season burst of sunshine that keeps the pollinators buzzing 🐝 🐦

With its vibrant yellow blooms and graceful stems, this native beauty brings color and life to the garden, offering an essential food source for bees, butterflies, and other winged visitors.

💛 A little golden glow for your Sunday

🌿Rooted & Wild: Native Plant Sundays

This week we’re featuring the Georgia Aster (Symphyotrichum Georgianum). This purple beauty is drought tolerant and thrives in any sunny garden ☀️

Although rare in our habitat, we can all change that by planting more native plants in our home gardens! Hemloch is here to help with that 🤝

🌿 Rooted & Wild: Native Plant Sundays

This week’s feature is the Narrow Leaf Sunflower 🌻 a native wildflower that proves resilience can be beautiful.

Thriving in wetlands and along roadsides, it offers a late-season feast for pollinators and a stunning show for us 🐝 🐦

🌿 Rooted & Wild: Native Plant Sundays 🌿
This week’s star is the American Beautyberry (Callicarpa americana) 💜. With its electric-purple berry clusters, this native shrub is a showstopper in any garden.

🍇 Bonus: birds feast on the berries, pollinators love the blooms, and it’s even been used as a natural insect repellent! A pollinator magnet and a backyard beauty. 🌱✨

✨ Native Plant Spotlight (round two!) ✨
I featured Blue Mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum) earlier this week, but the blooms are showing off again in full force and I couldn’t resist sharing an update. 💙

This native beauty is loved by butterflies, bees, and other pollinators—and right now the flowers are really popping! Perfect proof that native plants keep giving long past their first bloom. 🌿🦋

Have you spotted Blue Mistflower in your area this season?

Throwback to some of my first projects where I started experimenting with rock and plant elements — slate pathways, dry river beds, and ground covers weaving through the cracks. These are simple, but still some of my favorites. 🌿🪨

It’s wild to look back and see how far I’ve come since then. Every job since has been a step forward, learning and growing with each design. I’m excited to keep creating landscapes that blend rock and plant life; always inspired by nature, and always aiming to make each space feel grounded and alive.

Thanks to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far, more beauty ahead. 🙌

This is what patience + good design looks like. From freshly planted to fully grown, this landscape has transformed into a lush, tree-filled retreat. It’s a reminder that great things take time and nature always delivers. ✨
